Once, a very poor man came to Buddha. He asked:
- Why am I so poor?

Buddha answered:
- You are poor because you don’t practice generosity. You don’t practice charity.

- But how can I practice charity if I don’t have anything to give?

- You have five treasures that you can share with others.

First, you have your face. You can share your smiles with others, but you don’t do that.

Second, you have your eyes. You can look at others with eyes full of love and care, but you don’t do that.

Third, you have your mouth. With this mouth you can say nice things to others, but you don’t do that.

Then, you have a heart. With your loving heart you can wish happiness to others, but you don’t do that.

Last treasure that you possess is your body. With this body you can do many good things to others, but you don’t even do that. That is why you are poor.

peace of mind

Once Buddha was walking from city to city with some of his followers. It was in the early days. When they were traveling, they passed a lake, they stopped there and Buddha told one of his disciples, "I am thirsty. I get some water from that lake there."

The disciple went up to the lake when he arrived on it, he saw that some people were washing clothes in the water, and at the same time, a bullock cart was starting to cross the banks of the lake. As a result, the water was very dirty, it was very turbine.

The disciple thought, "How can I give this dirty water to drink Buddha?"Then he came back and told Buddha, "There is so much water in the water. I do not think it is suitable for drinking."

After about half an hour, Buddha then asked the same disciple to return to the lake and gave him some water to drink. The disciples went back to the obedient lake this time they found that there was absolutely clear water in this lake. Mud was settled down and it was advisable to be above water. So he collected some water in a vessel and brought it to Buddha.

Buddha looked at the water, and then he looked at the disciple and said, "Look, what you have done to clean the water ... let it go ... and the soil settled in itself - and you got clean water. The mind is the same, when it gets bothered, just let it happen Let it take a little longer It will automatically settle for you, it does not have to be put in any effort to calm it. "
